Reiki
Healing techniques, such as Reiki, can be traced back as far as 200BC although it is believed that the Japanese rediscovered Reiki in the late nineteenth century. Contrary to popular belief, Reiki is not associated to any religion or specific faith. It is simply a form of energy healing used to help people with health issues and to aid wellbeing.

The Reiki qualifications are passed down from Reiki Masters to their students over several months or years. Attempting to explain it to someone who has no knowledge of natural forces is at best, difficult. However, it is very real and does work.

It’s a well-known fact that many people have an ability to heal others. Not solely through medical skills but through the harnessing of healing energy, applying it to a specific area of the body. It is similar to that which we feel when we receive a reassuring hug from a loved one. Once you receive it, you feel instantly energised and at peace. The power of Reiki emanates from a similar energy that emanates from within us.  To experience and fully appreciate Reiki, you need to relax your mind and allow the healing energy to flow from the hands of the practitioner.  Gradually, your mind, body and soul will absorb that energy and utilise it in the best possible way for you, balancing your emotional and physical state appropriately.

Reiki is administered by the laying on of hands. This may be on, or just above, the patient’s body. Other times the practitioner may use a biodynamic energy field or a person’s aura to deliver the healing. This eradicates the need for physical contact.

The timescale for each Reiki treatment varies, ranging from a full 45 minutes, to shorter more focused sessions. This depends solely on how the individual reacts and how they experience the result.  There is no right or wrong way to experience the power of Reiki, it is simply down to the individual at that moment in time.
